spinocerebellar degeneration.
a neurological deformation disease with unknown cause.
all four limbs will slowly cease to be mobile.
one loses the ability to speak,
and at the same time will slowly lose logical thinking abilities.
will progress from a cane, to a walker and then to a wheelchair.
after this may become unconcious.
currently, there are no successful cure to the disease.
nor are there any medications.
in the show, ikeuchi aya contacted this disease at the age of 15.
she just got into a prominent school in japan and excel in basketball.
but as her condition got worse day by day,
slowly she starts to lose everything.
the ability to move freely, to talk, to eat and to play basketball.
she had to move to the school of disabled,
which took off her biggest joy, which is to be with her friends.
even so she tried not to be a burden to anyone,
and she wanted to help people even in current situation.
there is more to the show and i cant pen it all down,

what important is - she faught hard to live on.
