chinese new year is actually a good break for me.
i get plenty of sleep and no work at all, took me so long to realise.
this new year, we had dinner that came closest to a reunion dinner. did the usual custom with the guys, fought through the crowded chinatown to buy our favourite jellys!
while everyone was busy visiting on the first day, i was out in the sun, playing cricket with the foreign domestic workers. hahaha. i'm surprise at how interesting it can be! you see one chinese guy sticking out in a large pool of indians, sri langkans and bangladesh, running around the field and screaming for ball. sport, you see, gather people together and even though i know nuts about cricket, i still got a standing ovation from my all my new friends!
its really amazing to see how kids grow so fast. it feels as if it was just last year when i was carrying my little nephew around and my little niece is still so small in the cradle, now he is like a little devil running around and she can already speak and looking pretty, posing for the camera.
i had actually visited shermain's place every first day of new year since i know her. it use to be the draw of gambling but now, its because i actually got nothing to do, so we'll just hang. lol.
my father has this bad habit, when he see the food he like, he cannot help but to finish every single bit of it. he said it was a habit he cultivated as a kid, if he see my grandma cook something he like, he'll finish only that dish he like, not leaving anything for the family. till now, when he buy those delicious new year food back, he will finish all of them, even though he know its going to make him sick and him, doing his best effort to refrain from eating.
come to think of it, isnt most of us like that, we make mistake that we know right from the start,
we cannot be bothered with consequences, what matter is to live for the moment. hahaha maybe its just me, or maybe, blame it on the genes. ((:
